I am Jimmy Lopez, I have worked with blu cleaning a commercial janitorial and residential cleaning company in Chicago and Chicagoland area for about 4 years now and I am the specialty service manager. Before coming to Blu I worked in kitchens for about seven to eight years. I always started off as a dishwasher. I’ll work my way up to line cook and I was planning on getting that Chef position but then I guess I don’t know the kitchen really wasn’t my thing so I decided why not give cleaning a try. I like that we are not stuck in the same spot all the time, so we’re always like different suburbs or different accounts, always different faces, not the same people over and over. we switch teams around so it’s just this is different is not your ordinary job I guess. I never really worked with people when I was before Blu then I came here and I mean I had no choice but to talk to everybody and that definitely helped me gain some confidence to be able to start conversations just feel good about it so it definitely helped out a lot.
I feel like a lot of people should change their mindset on cleaning. I know a lot of people are like “just cleaning “ dude just cleaning also means you do it at home why not do it to help somebody else out. In a way we’re like teachers cause people would normally ask like so what do you think I should do here or a lot of clients what kind of hit you with I need this done but then we look at it and we’re like we actually recommend this. So, a place to learn, definitely a place to learn, a place to help grow, feel free to reach out with we’re always here to help even if you don’t hire us.
